The TCF Canada speaking section often presents the greatest challenge for test-takers. It's not just about knowing French — it's about expressing yourself clearly and spontaneously under timed conditions.
Task 1: Guided Interview (2 minutes) A conversation with the examiner about yourself, your interests, and your experiences. The goal is to assess your ability to introduce yourself and engage in simple discussion.
Task 2: Everyday Scenario (3 minutes, 1 min prep) Simulate a real-life situation — asking for information, making a complaint, or requesting a service.
Task 3: Express a Point of View (5 minutes, 1 min prep) Present and defend a point of view on a given topic. This is the most challenging task, requiring structured argumentation.
1. Practice speaking French daily — record yourself and listen back 2. Master discourse markers: *cependant, par conséquent, en revanche, d'abord* 3. Simulate exam conditions with timed practice 4. Engage in role-playing for Task 2 scenarios 5. Read French news and practice forming opinions for Task 3
